The Humanist Society of Bangladesh held a human chain program in Dhaka calling for an end to ethnic riots and deadly wars in the world.
The call to the international community to stop the ongoing war in the world was made from the human chain program organized on the occasion of the International Day of Non-Violence in front of the National Museum on Sunday. Mr. Shamsuddoha, President of Sambrita Abriti Organization and Organizing Secretary of Humanist Society, spoke about the significance of the International Day of Non-Violence in the human chain program. Directed by Mizanur Rahman Pasha, President of the organization Md Salim Reza, Senior Vice President of Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) and Humanist Society Md Shahed Ullah, Vice President Ayub Ansari, General Secretary Nazrul Islam Jasim, Vice General Secretary Sheikh Md Arif, Associate Professor of Dhaka University, Golam Mawla Hiran, brave freedom fighter Nazrul Islam Khoka, former students of Rabindra Bharti University AKM Shimanto and music artist Sabrina Khan Tandra was present among others.
Rimon and Hammad Sohag recited anti-war protest poems at the event. Speakers at the human chain criticized the renewed world unrest in the context of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war after the global epidemic Corona and demanded an immediate end to it. They called on developed countries to pay more attention to the protection of migrants who are victims of hunger and poverty and climate change by stopping the growing nuclear arms race in the world. They urged developed countries to focus more on protecting the world’s growing nuclear arms race and protecting migrants who are suffering from hunger and poverty and climate change.
